Sustainability is fundamental to Watershed Group's operations. We integrate responsible practices into every decision to deliver exceptional service and protect the planet, guided by global standards and strategic partnerships.
Our Ecovadis accreditation underlines the group’s ongoing commitment to our environment, the circular economy and to support our customers supply chain sustainability targets.
Established in 2024, our Environmental Policy reflects our commitment to protecting the natural environment. It guides our approach to waste, water, energy management, sustainable sourcing, and circular economy principles.
We have achieved measurable steps to reduce our carbon footprint and align with climate science.
Our Targets
50% reduction in Scope 1 emissions by 2030.
100% reduction in Scope 2 emissions by 2030.
20% reduction in Scope 3 emissions by 2030.
Future alignment with Science Based Targets for enhanced accountability.
Key Initiatives
Solar panel installations at selected sites.
Installing biofuel alternatives for fleet vehicles.
Collaborating with material suppliers to reduce raw material emissions.
Installed linerless label technology
Transitioned to Tosca pallets.
Water Stewardship
We recognise water as a human right and actively minimise consumption while ensuring high-quality wastewater management.
Waste Reduction
Our processes generate minimal hazardous waste, and we comply fully with local and international regulations. Waste mapping is already in place at our Dublin site, with plans to expand across all locations by 2026.
Building on our progress since 2021, we aim to:
Build on our carbon reduction goals through the Science Based Target Initiative.
Complete transition to renewable energy providers for electricity.
Add to our existing solar installations for selected facilities.
Increase recycled content in our products offerings and packaging.
Continue to embed circular economy principles across operations.
Engage employees in resource efficiency initiatives.
Aim to improve our EcoVadis Bronze Accreditation by targeting Silver in 2027.
We are committed to improving the circularity and sustainability of our products through innovation and partnerships. Each year, we review opportunities to enhance product and process sustainability as part of our operational growth plan.
Watershed’s partnership with Avery Dennison ensures that liner waste from customer sites is collected and recycled into a sustainable product with a measurable carbon footprint reduction number.
By 2030, Watershed aims to achieve 100% reduction in Scope 2 emissions and a 50% reduction in Scope 1 emissions, aligning with science-based targets for climate action.
All Watershed products are sourced in alignment with Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification, guaranteeing materials come from responsibly managed forests and renewable sources.
Switching to lighter-weight label materials and increasing recycled content can reduce your carbon emissions up to 20%. Every gram saved in material weight lowers transportation emissions and supports circularity goals.
